The Professional Softball Club, Inc. is the parent company of the ASBA, ASBA Futures, ASBA Shop, and ASBA Network.

Purpose

The Professional Softball Club, Inc. is committed to protecting the safety, health and well-being of all individuals in our workplace. As a community with a significant number of individuals under the age of 21, we have an even stronger commitment to insuring that our community is free of alcohol and tobacco products. We recognize that alcohol abuse and the use of tobacco products poses a significant threat to our mission. This policy applies to all individuals during all working hours and when conducting business or representing the company.

Policy

It is the policy of The Professional Softball Club, Inc. to maintain a secure work environment that is free from the effects of individuals under the influence of alcoholic beverages. The use of alcohol on premises where business is being conducted is strictly prohibited. Reporting to work under the influence of alcohol is also prohibited. Requests for program authorization must be obtained in advance. One of the goals of our alcohol and tobacco-free workplace program is to encourage individuals to voluntarily seek help with addiction. If, however, an individual violates the policy, he or she will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination. Nothing in this policy prohibits an individual from being disciplined or discharged for other violations and/or performance problems. The Professional Softball Club, Inc. recognizes alcohol and tobacco abuse as a potential health, safety, and security problem. Individuals who seek treatment voluntarily will be treated with confidentiality to the extent possible.

Implementation and Responsibilities

The entire Professional Softball Club family will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the Tobacco and Alcohol Free Workplace Policy. When there are known incidents or reason to believe that the policy has been violated, details concerning such incidents and the individuals involved must be immediately reported to the officer presiding over the sanctioned event. It is the goal of The Professional Softball Club, Inc. to provide a safe, productive work environment for all. On-going compliance with this policy statement is required. Failure to comply may result in suspension or termination.

Review Process

The Board of Directors will periodically review this policy and:
  • Determine its effectiveness and implement changes if they are needed;
  • Ensure that the sanctions herein developed are consistently enforced.
The Professional Softball Club, Inc. reserves the right to amend this policy at any time. Effective Date: March 19, 2018.
